The Association of Clinical Research Professionals' Annual Meeting
A medical doctor with more than two decades of experience, Dr. Carl Bazan serves as a clinical research associate with Precision for Medicine in Bethesda, Maryland. Alongside his professional activities, Dr. Carl Bazan maintains membership in the Association of Clinical Research Professionals (ACRP).
In its efforts to advance clinical research competence, ACRP supervises a variety of professional development training programs and activities throughout the year. The organization's largest event is its annual meeting, which takes place each spring.
ACRP's most recent annual meeting was held April 28 - May 2, 2017, in Seattle, Washington. The five-day event featured an education program comprising more than 100 sessions on a range of topics relevant to clinical trial operations.

The Quality and Professionalism Thresholds of CRA Certification
Carl Bazan, MD, is an established physician and surgeon who works at Precision for Medicine in Maryland as a clinical research associate (CRA). In this capacity, Dr. Carl Bazan supervises investigational site operations and trains principal investigators and other team members on protocol related to projects for companies such as BioPorto, Biological Dynamics, and Cerus.
Dr. Bazan holds certification as a CRA and has completed a proficiency examination available only to practitioners who have met specific eligibility thresholds. The CRA test is administered by the Association of Clinical Research Professionals, a nonprofit organization that sets standards for clinical research.
The CRA position involves support for the progress and administration of clinical trials sponsored by entities that research biologics, pharmaceuticals, and medical devices. CRAs, also known as trial monitors, supervise a full range of regulatory guidelines that trials must meet.
